Tigerwood Decking: Perfecting the Art of Durable Hardwood
Enhance the look and value of your home with the stunning beauty and lasting strength of TigerDeck® Tigerwood decking.
Careful, Selective Sourcing
We start by responsibly sourcing the best quality Tigerwood from sustainable producers in South America. As the highest volume buyer of Tigerwood in North America, we’re incredibly selective and only partner with suppliers who meet our meticulous standards for quality. Every step in our hardwood supply chain—from harvest to the end consumer—meets rigorous criteria for social, economic, and environmental responsibility.
Unique Kiln Drying Process
Through extensive testing and research, we’ve developed specific drying schedules that ensure the stability and strength of our materials for consistent quality and performance. Our nationally available hardwood decking materials are dried to 8% +/- 3SD, which minimizes the chance of cracking, cupping, or shrinking and ensures that they will hold a beautiful finish for years to come—with or without treating.
Patented Hidden Fastening System
To create a complete decking system, we developed the world’s first integrally designed hidden fastening system for use with hardwoods. Our patented Black Talon® hidden fastening system eliminates the need for pre-drilling and makes installation fast and efficient. Our unique, stainless steel design increases construction efficiency, minimizes the need for repair, and extends lifespan over decks with screw down or other fastening systems.
Striking Beauty. Impeccable Quality. Exceptional Value.
After testing over 40 hardwood species from around the world and experimenting with the best processing methods and technology in the nation, TigerDeck® settled upon Tigerwood decking. This exotic hardwood’s gorgeous grain, warm colors, and superior durability are what make our innovative Tigerwood decking system one of unmatched quality, beauty, and value.
Incredible Strength & Durability

TigerDeck® is naturally strong and extremely resistant to harsh climates, rot, decay, and insects. That means minimal splitting, splintering, cracking, or warping.

Smart Alternative to Ipe

Compared to Ipe, TigerDeck® is more sustainable and less prone to splinters, and slivering—delivering upscale beauty and a long lifespan for 20-30% less.

Sustainable

We work with government agencies to ensure sustainable logging practices that keep the cycle of growth healthy. Unlike composite decking, TigerDeck® Tigerwood decking is fully recyclable—making it a smart choice for eco-conscious consumers.

25-Year Warranty

With a lifespan that’s 2-3X longer than typical American softwood decking, TigerDeck® is built to last and proudly backed by an industry-leading, 25-year warranty.

Carefully Selected Materials

Not all Tigerwood decking is created equal. We hand-select and carefully kiln-dry our materials at the finest mills in South America, then process and grade them to U.S. standards to ensure impeccable stability and performance.

Exquisite Beauty. Low Maintenance.

TigerDeck’s unique grain, exotic black striping, and vibrant red, orange, and brown tones deliver a striking look that’s easy to maintain and enjoy.

About TigerDeck®

TigerDeck® was founded by two lumber experts, passionate about quality materials and convinced that through research and development, they could arrive at a unique solution for those seeking exotic looks and unmatched performance.

TigerDeck® is a trademarked brand of Tigerwood decking, siding and other Tigerwood products that has been specializing in this species (Astronium spp) for over 20 years. Tigerwood and tigerwood decking is not an endangered species or listed on CITIES as some of the other leading tropical hardwoods are. Tigerwood is a relatively fast-growing tropical hardwood and is found from southern Mexico to Argentina. We primarily source it from Brazil and Bolivia as the suppliers there are more reliable and have sustainable practices established for legal logging. We started importing tigerwood hardwood decking products as rough green lumber and developed a proprietary hidden deck fastening system (Black Talon Universal), pioneering the concept of hidden fastening systems for decking.

In the process we developed kiln schedules and designs to make it the most stable and user-friendly hardwood decking product to install. Over the course of time, we developed relationships with the best legal suppliers who now follow our drying and grading procedures to ensure a very consistent stable product. The drying of Tigerwood is critical to stabilizing this species which, unfortunately, a lot of other importers do not understand and import it not dried correctly and have issues. You can be assured that TigerDeck® hardwood tigerwood decking is properly dried and uses the best stainless steel hidden fastening system to eliminate surface penetration in your beautiful deck and makes for an easy installation. Of course, for those who prefer, the deck boards can also be face screwed in the old traditional method. TigerDeck® also offers Tigerwood home siding (T&G, Rainscreen & shiplap), paneling, porch, deck accessory products and other custom profiles that can be used for interior surfaces, boats, or other unique applications.

Tigerwood decking has a striking appearance that stands out compared to all composites and most other hardwoods. For outside applications of Tigerwood decking an oil is applied with UV inhibitors to block the sun’s ultraviolet light from fading color. If this is not important there is virtually no maintenance required and the wood will turn to a beautiful silver patina and maintain a very smooth surface. The life expectancy of tigerwood hardwood is 50 years in an exterior application, so it is essentially a lifetime deck. For interior applications the wood will maintain its natural beauty without any preservation however a clear oil or lacquer type finish will make the character, figure and color of the wood really pop.

Customer Testimonials

Read what our current and past clients have to say about TigerDeck products and services.

We used TigerDeck® Tigerwood decking for our raised, rear-yard project and have found it ideal in looks and stamina for our Canadian climate. It maintained its unique coloring and shows no signs of splitting or warping. We are confident that the extra money spent on TigerDeck, compared to weather-treated, cedar, or composite materials, will be more than made up for in the increased value of our home.
